Muthukoya Thangal (Q.S), fondly known as Bani Shaikhuna (Q.S) (the founder). After the passing of Bani Shaikhuna (Q.S), the legacy was entrusted to his beloved disciple, Asshaikh Assayyid Muhammad Kamaluddeen Jeeliyyul Qadiriyyu Sufiyy (Q.S) (Manjeri Shaiquna), with leadership later carried forward by the son of Bani Shaikhuna (Q.S), Asshaikh Assayyid Shihabudheen Koyathangal K.P. Al Qadiriyyu Sufiyyu (Q.S). Under their esteemed leadership, Madrasa Noorul Irfan has flourished, pioneering the spread of ‘Ilm-u-Tasawwuf’ and traditional Islamic knowledge across India.

Shaikhuna (Q.S), known with profound reverence as Bani Noorul Irfan (the founder), was born in 1910 on Androth Island in the Union Territory of Lakshadweep, to the noble and pious lineage of Sayyid Idros Thangakoya Thangal (Q.S) of Puthiyaillathuappura and Ayshayyapura Valiyabeevi. His birth was a blessing to the world of spirituality, where he emerged as a luminous star, guiding countless disciples along the path of spiritual wisdom across nations.
In addition to founding Madrasa Noorul Irfan Arabic College, Shaiquna (Q.S) established a distinguished network of Mahlarathul Qadiriya across various regions of Kerala and U T of Lakshadweep. These centers serve as sacred spaces for his devoted disciples, enabling them to engage deeply in spiritual practices and embody the noble teachings of their guide with unwavering reverence.

A paragon of both mysticism and poetic genius, Shaiquna graced the world with revered works, including ‘Thajul Akbar (Yusuf Qissa)’, ‘Fathima Beevi Wafath maala’, ‘Wajibath & Thouheed Maala’, ‘Maa’rifath Maala’, ‘Muhiyiddeen Maala and Asraarul Muhakhikheen’. Shaikhuna graced this world on the 12th of August 1952, on the Androth island, Union Territory of Lakshadweep. He descended from a noble lineage as the 23rd grandson of the great Gouzul-Aa’lam Assayyid Muhyidheen Abdul Qadir Al-Jeelani (Q.S). His blessed parents, Asshaikh Assayyid Muhammed Jalaluddeen A.I. Muthukoya Thangal Al-Qadiri As-Sufi (Q.S) (Bani Noorul Irfan) and Puradam Habsabeebi, nurtured him with immense spiritual wisdom and values from his earliest days.
